Dear Diary,

Hey, again. I guess whenever I write, “Dear Diary”, I am actually writing to myself, like I am thinking to myself in my head, except all my thoughts are written down and I have a record of what all has been floating around in my head instead of likely otherwise forgetting it all. That perspective feels much more offputting than the idea of writing to an inanimate object, such as a diary.

Anyhow.

A few things I want to write down so that I don’t forget them and am left without any record of are:

I have been making small changes to my day-to-day life that have been making such a difference in my overall quality of life as a whole. The old saying, “small and simple things” and then “by small and simple things are great things brought to pass”, and “from humble beginnings can come great things” have come into my mind a lot lately. I feel like those phrases describe so perfectly what my last few weeks/month have been.

In October I started homeschooling H & H again. J is still attending the charter school for now, but I think I am going to have him start homeschooling again soon also. Making small things in our daily routine has made our routines and rhythms relating to our home education efforts go so much smoother every day. I can’t exactly even pinpoint all the little changes that I’ve been making, at least not without giving it some thought (my brain feels tired right now), but I think I’ll try to sit down and think about it later so I can write it down, and then I won’t forget any of it if I fall out of the habit of any of those small changes. They’ve all been adding up and making enough of a difference, though, that I definitely want to keep doing them.
